Healthwatch Manchester have produced a report about dental admissions in Manchester, investigating how many dentists are accepting new patients.
This report involved contacting all Dental practices in Manchester and enquiring about them taking on new patients, both NHS and private.
Over a 2 week period, staff and interns at Healthwatch Manchester contacted each practice and collated their findings into individual documents before the findings were combined into this report.
They found that more dental practices should accept new NHS patients to their practices after they found that only three (3) practices were accepting new NHS patients over the age of 18.
Moreover, they have recommended that the way in which NHS patients are accepted needs to be made clear to all local stakeholders and presented on an annual timeline where possible.
