Healthwatch Oldham has had a busy year adapting to the ongoing challenges of COVID-19 while continuing to champion the voices of the local community.
With projects such as the Greater Manchester Dental Report, the Wheelchair Users Accessibility Report, and surveys like Healthwatch Oldham 100, the team has actively listened to the needs of Oldham residents and driven changes in health and social care.
Key achievements include the People’s Choice Awards, which recognised outstanding contributions in health and social care, and publishing a report on cancer care experiences during COVID-19.
Additionally, Healthwatch Oldham has worked closely with partners, such as the Oldham Safeguarding Adults Team, to produce valuable insights into accessibility and support services. Volunteers have played a critical role, supporting events, focus groups, and outreach efforts, making Healthwatch a true community-led organisation that continues to impact Oldham’s health and social care landscape.
