Healthwatch Rochdale completed an Enter & View visit to Rochdale Infirmary Outpatients in March 2024.
Healthwatch Rochdale did the first visit of the site back in February 2023. The visit which took place in March 2024 was a review of the original recommendations made by Healthwatch Rochdale. Originally seven recommendations were made to the outpatient’s department in 2023 and upon our revisit it was highlighted that only four of those recommendations had been carried out.
Following the revisit Healthwatch Rochdale made a further eight recommendations for improvement and received a response and action plan from Rochdale Infirmary management within the statutory time frame.
The visit to Rochdale Infirmary is part of an ongoing planned series of visits to discover what individuals and their families think about the health and social services that are provided and share examples of good working practice by:
- Observing and identifying best practice in the provision of care for individuals requiring social care or nursing care
- Observing individuals and relatives engaging with the staff and their surroundings
- Capturing the experiences of individuals and relatives
- Write up a report which includes recommendations whilst also
highlighting good practice. - Share findings and reports with providers, regulators, local authority,
NHS commissioners and quality assurers, the public, Healthwatch
England and other relevant partners.
